Our barista training includes intensive hands on barista training, café set up, role play and "one on one" coach retail. Here's a basic overview of a five day session:

Day 1    The basics - what you need to know

* Machine familiarization
* Espresso tasting, flavor profiles
* Preparing perfect espresso to standards
adjusting grind, does, tamp
Steaming & texturizing milk
Preparing basic espresso drinks to standards
Cleaning the espresso machine for the day

Day 2    Bringing it up a notch, the "bam" barista
* Advanced Barista
Espresso blending and cupping
Milk texturing
Equipment preventative maintenance
Barista Testing, written and practical

Day 3 Art of Espresso and Creative Coffee
Latte Art
Smoothie menu: preparing iced, blended, frappre and ice cream drinks
Preparing perfice Iced Espresso drinks

Day 4 The Rest of the picture
Role play espresso ergonomics and customer service
Brewing Drip Coffee, French Press, and grinding

Day 5 The Competition Barista - Introduction to barista competitions
Sensory and technical training
Judging your performance according to the USBC* and WBC**
Creating Desingner Drinks that taste as good as they look

Day 5+ This is the day you "graduate"...and actually run an real Cafe! (Optional)

This is the "real deal". The management of Brewed Awakenings (a local Cafe in Eugene), has all of their employees take the day off, and the BEST Coffee School takes over management for the day.

You will:
* Learn and execute opening procedures
* Take orders
* Greet customers
* Prepare drinks
* Operate the cash register
* And EVERYTHING else needed to operate a running cafe..
